“Our greatness lies not so much in being able to remake the world, as being able to remake ourselves.” – Mahatma Gandhi

Sometimes we find ourselves wondering, “How did I get here”? It can feel like we are actors in someone else’s play. And it’s do-able – we play the part well. But somewhere, deep down, we know that we are acting.

The larger the chasm between the role you are playing and the person you desire to be, the person you truly are, the more discontent you will experience, which can result in symptoms like depression, anxiety, irritability, and difficulty with normal everyday tasks of living.

Maybe you know who you are deep down and you want to peel away some of the layers. Maybe you need to peel away the layers in order to find yourself again.

Now is the time to explore who you are, who you want to be, what your values and dreams are. It might mean figuring out how you got here in the first place in order to take some corrective actions or change some negative beliefs. It might mean learning or re-learning positive strategies. It might take some time. No matter, because It’s time to take care of yourself!

The good news is that with a little tender care and support, you can stop acting and start living your authentic life! If you are ready, I can help.

Earlene Blevins, MA, LPC

I went back to school later in life so that I could do what I wanted to do every since I was in Middle School. It was one of my better decisions!

When I got out of school, 12 years ago, I found myself working a lot with children. I still love to work with children, especially those struggling with anxiety, divorced parents and trauma. My training and work with children has taught me a lot about us, as adults and how attachment and childhood experiences affect who we become.
